Message from chair no. 12

It is that time of the year when many of you will be attending the AGU conference in Chicago. InterRidge Office in Korea officially began on May 1, 2020. The current three-year term expires on April 30, 2023. We would like to solicit proposals for the following country to host InterRidge. According to the current rule, the hosting country has to be a principal member of InterRidge. There are only two principal member countries (China and Korea) currently. France and Norway downgraded their membership to regular members. Recently the United States joined InterRidge but as a regular member. The last three years were difficult for InterRidge and other organizations like ours, which rely heavily on face-to-face meetings because of the pandemic. Still, we are interested in receiving proposals or letters of interest.

December 15 is the deadline for members from member countries to participate in the writing of the Next Decadal Plan (2024-2033). You can directly contact the office or via the national representative of your country (Steering Committee Members). Happy holidays and a wonderful new year. I hope the situation in 2023 will get better.
