Postdoctoral position in marine glacial morphology, Stockholm University, Sweden

The successful postdoctoral applicant should work with acquired and archived data to quantify seafloor glaciogenic features in order to establish boundary conditions to be used for ice sheet modeling and statistical analysis.

The Department of Geology and Geochemistry at Stockholm University has since 2007
regularly carried out multibeam and chirp sonar mapping in both Arctic and Antarctic
waters with the Swedish icebreaker Oden. The acquired and archived data contain a
wealth of information concerning submarine glaciogenic landforms. In collaboration
with ice sheet modelers, the successful postdoctoral applicant should work with these
data to quantify seafloor glaciogenic features in order to establish boundary conditions
to be used for ice sheet modeling and statistical analysis. Applicants should have a PhD and an expertise in glacial geomorphology and be able to handle multibeam and chirp sonar data.
